Robert was born at 311 Ashton Road. His birth was registered in 3q 1880 Chorlton 8c 673, mother’s maiden name Hardy. His death was registered in 4q 1931 Manchester North 8d 719, aged 51.

The four children whose births were registered after the 1911 census are assumed to be children of Robert and Sophia based on registration district, mother’s maiden neme, and the fact there is no other Warburton-James marriage closer than Barton on Irwell in 1908.
